OVERSEAS BRANDS TARGET ALTRINCHAM
Sostrene Grene and Orangetheory Fitness have both taken units in Stamford Quarter, Altrincham, recently named Britain’s best high street.
American gym franchise Orangetheory Fitness has signed for the remainder of the unit formerly occupied by New Look in George Street, while Danish homewares chain Sostrene Grene has opened a few doors away.
It is only Orangetheory Fitness’ seventh UK branch and its first outside the south of England. Sostrene Green has just two other UK stores open currently, in Nottingham and Chester.
Altrincham in Greater Manchester is enjoying something of a renaissance. The town scooped top spot at this year’s Great British High Street Awards, run by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
Tim Hance of HRH Retail, who jointly advised landlord Lunar Altrincham, comments: “It is testimony to Altrincham’s remarkable turnaround that it has been able to attract these two exciting international brands, especially as both are still relatively unknown in the UK.”
