ALL ABOARD FOR NEW SAINSBURY’S AT ST ALBANS STATION
Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Limited, advised by HRH Retail, have just acquired and opened a new Sainsbury’s Local convenience store at St Albans station, a busy commuter station with fast direct links to London main line and tube connections, to Gatwick Airport and Brighton and to the north to Bedford, Northampton and beyond.
The new store was developed by Govia Thameslink Railway Limited and forms part of the main station building immediately adjacent to the main entrance and ticket office. Arranged on ground and first floors the unit has a total floor area of 4,400 sq ft with a sales area of some 2,400 sq ft.
Sainsbury’s took a new lease of the space at the end of 2021 and opened for trade at the beginning of March 2022.
In addition to the many commuters using the station the store is expected to serve many of the residents who live within close proximity to the station with little current nearby food store provision.
